Subject: A CONCERNED CITIZEN

I am deeply concerned about the affects the stewardship transition may have on the free market and individual free speech. I do not believe that your motives are just. I find it very odd that such a big decision is being made by unelected, and unaccountable individuals. Based on the types of things you propose, I believe that political debate online could severely stagnated. If you allow foreign governments that do not believe in the concept of free expression to have a stake in the internet, it will result in it's destruction. Half of the platform's users will either be banned or leave of their own volition, after they say something unfavorable about our President, Putin, or the Ayatollah. This proposal also opens the web open to economic regulation by foreign powers, allowing for god knows what kind of confusion, conflict, and over regulation. This is one of the most imbecilic and suicidal things I have ever read. Do you people want to crash the digital market? I find it personally insulting that an American resource, creating entirely by my home country is being unceremoniously handed off to foreigners who have expressed open contempt for everything my community values. For some reason you also closed public discussion on this issue four days ahead of schedule. I do not think very highly of you, but it would be nice to have at least some assurance that my right to total freedom of speech will not be infringed by your organization. If you are prepared to assure that right, please let me know, but do not waste your breath if you are just going to use the caveat of "hate speech" and "tolerance" to prevent your political enemies from using the net.

-Sincerely, Jack Spicer
