Here’s some material presented by Fadi which I’ve got from the SOAC leaders call today where the main topic of discussion was once again IANA accountability.

 

Fadi warned of the dangers if the transition proposal cannot be finalised by December at the latest (see attached slides). He stated that Dublin was a critical juncture. From the slides you will also see that a 4 month period is required to move from agreement to implementation.

Attention focused on the Dublin schedule and the need to maximise time spent on resolving this issue. On that basis ICANN staff are going to take another look at the current time plan to ascertain whether additional time can be set aside for community discussions on IANA accountability by losing or rearranging some sessions currently planned for Dublin. There will be another call at the end of this week/early next to look at the options.
