Yes, I think that makes sense.
A notification could be published saying that we are now in the public comment period for the final proposal and comments should come in that way

Subject: [Internal-cg] Suspend ICG forum during public comment period?

Per my exchange below with Olivier, do people think we should suspend the ICG forum during the public comment period so that we receive all comments through a single channel and they all get posted in one place to the public comment archive?

Hi Olivier,

The ICG forum has existed since shortly after the ICG was formed in 2014 and we have received a smattering of comments there over the course of the last year. The comments referenced below were received before the opening of the ICG public comment period. It is a good question whether we should at this point suspend the forum so that people are not confused about how to submit comments to us, as we have separate submission mechanisms for public comments about the transition proposal. I will raise this with the ICG.

Thanks,
Alissa

Dear Jonathan and Alissa,

I have a question about process here: how are the ICG and the CWG treating comments that fall outside a public consultation period? Are these receiving special treatment and if so, why? I note the CWG has just opened a public consultation period - should these comment have gone into the CWG consultation rather than using this seemingly special track?
Kindest regards,

Olivier

Alissa,

Thank-you for this, please do go ahead and send the ICG thoughts on this through to the CWG.

Subject: [CWG-Stewardship] Comments from Richard Hill

CWG,
The ICG has received the following from Richard Hill: <http://mm.ianacg.org/pipermail/icg-forum_ianacg.org/2015-June/000001.html> According to the process the ICG uses to handle forum comments <https://www.ianacg.org/icg-files/documents/Community-Comments-Handling-1May15-final.pdf>, the ICG assesses whether the comments are to be investigated by the operational community itself, and if we draw that conclusion we make the OC aware of the comment and ask whether the OC has any input. So we would appreciate input you may have no later than August 10.

The ICG has also reviewed these questions in light of the CWG charter and process, and we would be happy to send our thoughts if helpful to the CWG.

Thanks,
Alissa Cooper on behalf of the ICG
